Type Locality and Naming
Jiaolai Basin. The Linjiazhuang Formation was named by Du Benming (1991) in Linjiazhuang of The Zhuangying Town, Jiaozhou. The key section is the Mengci – Daheliu section in the Zhuangying Town of the Jiaozhou City, Shandong. Lower formation in the Wangshi Gr.
Lithology and Thickness
The Linjiazhuang Formation is composed of grayish brown, brownish grey conglomerate, gravel- bearing sandstone intercalated with purple red fine-grained sandstone and siltstone. It is 180 to 923 m thick.

Lower contact
The Linjiazhuang Formation overlies the Fanggezhuang Fm unconformably.
